Quilt Display

In June, 2008, after the school quilt project was completed, the school quilts were displayed for two days. One Friday evening in Binghamton for the Art Walk (above) as one of the featured displays, and the next day at the Newark Valley Days fair. Reception of them was very good.

School Quilt Project

Ziggy's Quick Quilters have teamed up with Nathan T. Hall Elementary School in Newark Valley, NY, to make quilts. Each of the students, staff and employees of the school have created colorful blocks to be incorporated into quilts which are being assembled by the quilters. Several of the quilts are finished and are on display at the school and the kids are very excited to see their artwork turned into beautiful quilts!

Ziggy's Quick Quilters have been very busy in the last couple of months. We have had projects going with a couple of different elementary schools, we spent the day quilting with Common Threads Quilting group this past Thursday, and today we had a quilt signing at the Harley-Davidson showroom on Upper Front Street as part of their community day event.

We plan to add coming events to our website, so stay tuned for future activities.

Request from OPERATION FIRST RESPONSE (OFR)

We are “Ziggy’s Quick Quilters”, a small group of moms, who would like to help our military men & women who have been wounded while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. As a quilting group of eight, we are making cot size quilts as requested by OFR (info@operationfirstresponse.org).

We need your help by way of donations in reaching our goal of 500 quilts plus 500
one - gallon Zip Lock bags filled with personal care items listed below which are on the OFR request sheet. These items will be sent to military hospitals in Iraq and Germany for distribution. The following are items which you may be able to contribute as a means of saying THANK YOU to our troops for their service and sacrifice for our country.

Prepaid International Phone-Card

Red, white, blue or patriotic fabric & batting for making of the quilts

Monetary donations for clothing and shipping are also needed.
